INFORM: Any suspected case of COVID-19 must be reported to infection prevention Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (402-481-8928) or the administrative manager outside those hours. Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s Communicable Disease Program also needs to be informed at 402-441-8053, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.  After 4:30 p.m. and anytime Saturday, Sunday and Holidays call 402-441-8000 and ask for the Communicable Disease Program.

 

Asymptomatic travelers from (China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea) are requested to self-report to the Nebraska public health on-line tracking system and to self-isolate for 14 days. Individuals can self-report at https://cip-dhhs.ne.gov/redcap/surveys/?s=JKHEPR4DPR

 

Demographic, Clinical, and Biomarker Predictors of Apnea-Hypopnea Index from Polysomnography in Midwestern Sleep Clinic Patients

Jen Miller’s, PhD, APRN-NP, Midwestern Nursing Research Society (MNRS) 2020 abstract has been selected as a “Distinguished Abstract” for this year’s conference. She will be giving a 20×20 presentation titled “Demographic, Clinical, and Biomarker Predictors of Apnea-Hypopnea Index from Polysomnography in Midwestern Sleep Clinic Patients.” Findings from the study were that body mass index, systolic blood pressure, and absence of lung disease were predictors of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in the patients recruited from Nebraska Pulmonary Specialties (n=170). More detailed information will be presented during the 20×20 presentation, which is a 6 minute and 40-second presentation using 20 slides that advance every 20 seconds. Her presentation will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 10:00-11:30 at the MNRS Conference in Shamburg, IL

 

The data from this research was submitted for publication and the manuscript is currently under consideration at a peer-reviewed journal.
